Magical Hungary photo exhibition at the Hungarian Agricultural Museum

The world of national parks portrayed through the most beautiful nature photos in the country. Magical Hungary photo exhibition can be visited in the Hungarian Agricultural Museum in Budapest from 1 June to 18 July 2021. The winning photos of the 2020 competition will be presented in the exhibition. The Magical Hungary competition is the most exciting nature photography competition in the country, in which photographers compete in a nine-month long championship. Candidates receive recognition on a monthly basis, but the main challenge is to be at the top of the list out of hundreds of photographers based on the scores they receive for their year-long photography performance. If you want to be one of the most successful photographers of MH, it’s not enough to take a single, outstandingly good picture - you have to be out in nature all year long and take special photos. Magical Hungary is more than a photo competition, it’s a professional platform where nature photographers can exchange ideas with the professional jury and fellow photographers, motivate each other, and develop during an exciting year-round competition. Every year a beautiful photo album is made from the most beautiful pictures of the competition season, along with a high-volume exhibition, which the general public can admire at prestigious exhibition venues.

Vajdahunyad Castle Summer Music Festival July 1-29

The 29th Vajdahunyad Castle Summer Music Festival opens its doors, where the best performers of classical music and music-loving audience can meet once again. The aim of the festival is to provide a quality musical experience for visitors in the romantic courtyard of Vajdahunyad Castle.In addition to the symphony orchestras, there will be other world-famous productions on stage, such as Katica Illényi and the Péter Sárik Trio, as well as the Budapest Bar.  The concert series will be opened by the MÁV Symphony Orchestra on 1 July, followed by the Hungarian Virtuosos Chamber Orchestra and the Szent István Philharmonic. The evenings evoke the greatest in the history of music - Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Vivaldi and Verdi.One of the stars of the festival is the world-famous violin and theremin artist Katica Illényi, who will give a joint concert with the Péter Sárik Trio on 12 July. On 22 July, the Sabbathsong Klezmer Band will give a small genre overview featuring guest artists Nándor Beke Farkas (violin) and Jenő Lisztes (cimbalom). Last but not least, we can see and hear the most popular productions in Hungary: on 26 July, the Budapest Bar and on 29 July, the 100-member Gypsy Orchestra will fill the courtyard with music.

International Palace Games of Visegrád, July 9-11

Since 1985 the International Palace Games of Visegrád commemorate one of the most significant events of the Middle Ages, the Congress of Visegrád in 1335.

It is the most prestigious and largest medieval festival in Hungary, held annually on the second weekend of July.  In addition to the Carpathian Basin region, it hosts excellent traditionalist groups from ten European countries.  Along with them, nearly a thousand costumed characters come to reminisce the brightest historical event in the former royal capital. For three days we await our visitors to our programs, which take place in five locations - the Knight's Tournament Court, the Royal Palace, the Royal Wine Court, the Park Stage and the Solomon's Tower.Visiting the exhibitions of the Royal Palace, costume guided tours, royal cuisine in operation, medieval military camp, medieval weapon- and medical history demonstrations, historical craft fair, concerts, medieval children's playhouse next to the Park Stage. Viewing the exhibitions of the Solomon’s Tower, dance demonstrations, weapon demonstrations. The Royal Wine Court awaits you with a special wine and food offer, as well as high-quality stage shows. Feast with the kings and their accompaniment! On Friday and Saturday after the knight tournament, there will be early music concerts and dancing until 2 a.m. at a new location, the Palace House at the central large parking lot. On the Park Stage we await you with concerts and puppet theater performances every day.

Ister Days in Szentendre

The event is visited by more and more people every year, where we can get acquainted with the special traditions of the Danube. Numerous programs are expected on and around the river. The highlight of the event will be the candle floating.  A lot of people attend the event just because of this program. This experience will be unforgettable for the little ones and their parents as well.Szentendre awaits visitors with artistic and gastronomic presentations of nationalities. A separate playhouse will be set up for children, while adults can attend folk and light music concerts. The multi-day event is recommended for all ages. There will also be stunts and street theater performances, and children can take part in creative activities.

Valley of Arts

It will be held from 23 July to 1 August. Their website makes the program offers transparent, as the programs are divided into different categories (theater, literature, light music, family programs, sports programs, preservation of traditions, green programs, etc.) – allowing us to browse easily and eventually to participate in the programs we are most interested in.
