Take part in the biggest running event of the spring, run a half marathon with thousands of runners.  Together we can beat the 2019 entry record!

It's not too late to start preparing, sign up for e-training.

40. Lidl Balaton Cross Swimming 

23 July 2022 (reserve days: July 24, 30, 31, August 6, 7, 13, 14)

The Lake Balaton cross swimming will be held for the 40th time in 2022.  Sportsmen undertaking the swim will start from Révfülöp and after accomplishing the 5.2-kilometer distance, will arrive at the Platán beach in Balatonboglár. The distance can be completed in the swimming style of your choice and anyone can enter whose health condition allows it. A professional swimming history comes in handy, but is not necessary. With targeted preparation, the 5.2 km distance can be overcome by all adventurous people who can swim. If you still feel like the full distance is too much, join us for the 2.6 km half-distance. The 2.6 km hoop starts from Platán beach in Balatonboglár and you have to swim back from the buoy at 1300 meters to the finish in Balatonboglár.

Suggestions

You will need extra energy to complete the 5 km, so eat rich in carbohydrates the days before the swim, but do not eat yourself full before the race. The best is if you don’t eat 2 hours before the swim. On the day of the race, avoid eating heavy, spicy food, have something easily digestible for breakfast. In order to save energy, it is practical to start the day with slow-release carbohydrates (such as oatmeal). However, do not try a completely new diet right before the race.

To ensure the safety of the swimmers there will be sailboats every 25-30 meters on the swimming corridor between the start and finish. If you’re tired, take a break, but don’t panic, swim at a calm, steady pace to one of the boats, rest a little, and then continue swimming. If you have any problem that you can't solve by yourself, ask for help from the staff or if necessary, from your fellow competitors.

37th Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon

The half marathon is a “conquerable distance”. It can be enough to run 20-25 km a week to complete it. The half marathon is also a lovable distance. It’s long enough for us to be very proud when reaching the finish line, but not so long as not to see the end.Run a half marathon in Budapest, on a beautiful and varied route with ten thousand runners! Amazing sightseeing spots on the run: world heritage sites, Danube bridges, Gellért Hill, Buda Castle, Parliament, Margaret Island, an unforgettable experience!
