The museum houses a rich collection of folk art egg decorations, mainly from the Carpathian Basin, presented by region. There are also pieces from more distant landscapes (Israel, India, Indonesia), which are less common in Europe.

Easter Celebrations programme

On Easter Monday, at 15:00, the Zengővárkony Folk Ensemble will entertain visitors with a folk dance show entitled "Easter Dance" in front of the museum. As part of the "Eggs for Our Loved Ones" programme, the first five days of Holy Week (15-19 April) will feature an egg-laying demonstration, where you can follow the process of how a hen's egg is turned into a deviled egg.
