Tchaikovsky: Nutcracker Ballet

There is almost no child, or adult who is unfamiliar with the masterpiece of Russian ballet or its music. So, it's not surprising, that the show runs every year with a full house, and tickets run out quickly. In 2019, due to the renovation of the Opera House, the Nutcracker will be on a new location. The Nutcracker ballet in November 2019 will be on weekdays, and weekends can be seen in the Erkel Theater in Budapest.

MÁV SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA - Free Advent Concert at Keleti, Nyugati and Déli Railway Stations

In an unusual way the MÁV Symphony Orchestra is going to dress up in music the Keleti, Nyugati and Déli Railway Stations twice a month from November to May. The mini-concerts are 20 minutes long, and music programs are adjusted to a variety of themes, including the most beautiful Christmas-related works in the Advent period.                                                                                      Concerts are airing every Wednesday from November 6, in the Nyugati Railway Station from 3:30 pm, under the passenger information display at the beginning of the platforms. The show then continues at Déli from 4:30 pm and moves to Keleti station’s Lotz Hall at 5:30 pm. The artists will also perform at the Vác Station on December 11, January 22, February 19, March 18, April 15 and May 13 at 3:30 pm.

Organ concerts in St. Stephen's Basilica

The world-famous monument organ of the St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest, is heard exclusively in the performances of CATHEDRAL ORGAN CONCERTS - the wonderful instrument is performed every Monday and Friday, by outstanding Hungarian performers. On December 20, at 8:00 pm, Handel Messiah can be seen in the Cathedral, which will certainly provide one of the greatest musical experience during the Christmas period. The Messiah oratorio is one of the most well-known works in the history of music, and has already had the much-anticipated audience success already in Handel's life.

Veni Domine - Advent Christmas Concert from the Sistine Chapel in Urania movie theatre         

The Vatican's Apostolic Library houses the world's most important and extensive collection of church music manuscripts, to which only the Sistine Chapel Choir currently has access. This choir, which is the oldest choir in the world, has been performing for centuries on these special music pieces. The December 2019 recording viewable in Hungarian cinemas features a number of specials such as Palestrina's and Desprez's choral works that have never been heard live.

Dexter Walker and Zion Movement choir gospel concert at the Budapest Convention Center

After 2016, Dexter Walker & Zion Movement (Chicago, USA) is visiting Hungary again, and the audience will be the first to experience this unique community experience. The energetic and disciplined religious choir, made up of young people, for the majority of the 30-member team, which is determined to bring the genre back, featuring a wide-ranging Gospel repertoire from the oldest to the latest. The choir also sings with 3 famous soloists and is accompanied live by a five-member band. In their repertoire, they insist on their roots, African-American gospel music and perform songs about the heart, truth, poverty, understanding and Jesus.
